2009 Expedition - Viper 3505v

I used to be an installer (about 10 years ago) and figured I could still do it, but it would take longer. I have installed several remote start alarms in the past, but I can't seem to get this one to cooperate.

The vehicle is a 2009 Ford Expedition XLT (non-EL model) and the remote start unit is the Viper 5305v. I have the pkall bypass from directed installed, but I can't get it to program because of the problem below (I do have both keys to program it when that time comes).

I have wired in the alarm and everything seems to work, except the unit will not activate the remote start. It's not a bypass issue because it won't even get that far. When I press the remote start button on the 2-way remote, it (the remote) immediately gives me the 2 tone error signal (bee-boop). Nothing happens. No ding like the key is in the ignition, no attempt to start, no accessory activation, nothing.

I've checked my connections and haven't been able to figure it out. The only thing I can figure is that there is an input to the alarm brain that I am missing.

If anyone has any idea what I could be doing wrong, any information would be greatly appreciated. Of course, if you need any further information from me, I will try to get it to you as quickly as possible.

Is the neutral safety wire of the viper connected to ground? It needs to be grounded. Also it needs to be tach programmed if running tach or set in tach less voltage sense mode.

The neutral safety wire is grounded through the toggle switch per the manual. In fact, if I flip the switch to the off position the remote gives the same two tone error signal as it does when I try to activate the remote start.

I had planned on using the virtual tach (which is the default of the unit according to the manual), so I haven't hooked up the tach wire yet. I will do that this afternoon and let the unit learn the tach signal and try again. I'll let you know what happens.

Sorry I dropped off the earth there for a while. I got the remote start to activate. I rechecked all connections again, unplugged the entire unit for half an hour and learned the tach signal and it activated. Thank you for your help. I feel a little silly for not being able to figure it out on my own. Thanks again.
