Hey fellas,

2010 ram 3500, 6.7 diesel, automatic (CM7200, Blade AL, drone mobile, 901 2 way fob.

- had a Compustar put in truck last year and have an intermittent starting issue. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, he attempts 3 times (seems too short of cranks) then goes into fail mode with ACC on. Coming to a truck in -30c with lights all on, fan blowing, and radio on but truck off not good lol.

I looked at starter under dash and it does not have CN5 installed. This is a 20 pin connector, 1 of them being "AC Tach in" another pin on this connector is "(-) Hood in". So currently truck will start with hood open.

Truck is set for "assumed timed crank" option 2-10 feature 4. This sends a 3 seconds crank signal.

I picked up a 20 pin connector today (gray CN5) this will allow me to add a hood pin and run an actual tach wire.

I think I would only need the 2 wires of the 20. The rest I believe is through canbus.

Anyone see an issue with trying this? I'm not an installer, just learning as I go. I will have to try and change the tach sensing with the 901 fob afterwards.

Appreciate any kind of input I can get guys. Thanks

Shouldn't be a issue to hook those up I always do. Less problems that way.
