Hello,

I'm trying to sort out an issue with my Excalibur remote starter.

I have two original Omega 111-03 One-Button remotes for the system, and neither seem to work more than an inch or so from the windshield-mounted antenna. I've had the system installed since 2008 in my 2008 Honda Civic.

I've replaced the battery in both remotes, and repaired both of them. I found it interesting that I could only pair the remotes by holding them very close to the antenna/valet button-- basically touching it. Any further and the system would not receive the transmissions.

I can start the car (and turn it off) via the remote, but only by holding the transmitters directly against the glass of the windshield. I have to also hold the button down for a whole second or so each press.

Are these remotes known to go bad, or would I possibly have a faulty antenna/valet switch?

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks,
Nick
