USB Bypass Compatibality

In short does anyone know if a USB programming module from manufacturer “A” will work with a bypass module built by manufacturer “B”? I’ve searched and haven’t found the answer. It’s quite possible I’m not searching the right thing.

Background:
I was out of town for awhile and letting a family member use my vehicle. During that time the family member lost one of my keys. When I returned, the remote start I installed was not working (you might see where I’m going with this). When I finally got some time and did some trouble shooting I found that the bypass module’s (DBALL) programming was corrupt. I did see where you could program the DBALL using one key with a USB programming module (XKLOADER 2) through their website; so I bought one. Dumb mistake on my part when I found out for the 2nd to last step you had to be an installer for the real programming (good luck getting a password). I did some research and found that other companies that appear to cater to the DIYs out there and let you program their bypass modules through their website (looks like idatalink provides this service with their KLON technology). I did let a local show program my DBALL and everything is working again. I’ll make an attempt at programming a new key to the vehicle using the auto start and the original key trick I read about (if that work it just saved me $280).
During my reading I came across where people had issues with their DBALL losing/corrupting its programming if the car battery dies. If the DBALL loses it programming again I’m going with another brand and I don’t want to go through the process of waiting for an appointment and pay $25 to have someone do a 10 sec quick flash since I’m down to one key at the moment.

Back to the subject at hand; does anyone know if you could program another companies bypass module using a different companies USB programming adapter (Example: XKLOADER 2 work with idatalink’s ADS-TB) ?

Each bypass manufacturer has their own special USB programming cable. While the XKLoader2 and iDatalink ADS USB cable look simple, there is something inside that makes it proprietary. The Fortin Flashlink cable is even more unique in appearance ( and more costly ) and will only work with their modules.

Yes, Fortin does. Their bypass modules are very good. I like the EVO-ALL for many applications.

On a side note, the programmed bypass module usually does not act as a unique master key. It's a clone of the one you used to program it. It won't act as a transponder key to allow you to program a new key to the transponder system if you need two keys. Of course I'm not sure exactly what car we are talking about.
