Does anybody know how to program the external trigger input to function as the key sense on a prostart ct-3300?

Okay, a little more info because I'm wondering if I'm going about this all wrong.

I'm installing a prostart ct-3300 in a 2005 Nissan Frontier.

Everything is hooked up and almost all functions work properly. Doors lock and unlock, alarm arms and disarms. The problem is the start, truck cranks and starts with the remote if the key is in the ignition but if the key is not present the truck just cranks with no start from the remote. Clearly it's a key sense issue.

Can anyone tell me how to wire the ct-3300 for the key sense on the truck?

The manual says to hook the purple external trigger input from the 12 wire connector to the oem key sense line but doesn't say how to change the programming option for that particular wire (it can be used for four different options).

Is there another line I can use for the key sense? Am I missing something stupid?

Any advice or suggestions would be happily accepted as I would really like to put my interior back together, And I would rather not have to leave my key in the ignition for my remote start to work. Lol

You need to install a bypass module to interface with the transponder in the key. Most vehicles have a transponder in the key which immobilizes the vehicle from starting. Key sense is not required. There are many different suppliers that offer bypass modules, but they do need to be programmed for your vehicle.

D'oh! Thanks, for some reason I was thinking the key sense disabled that. It would explain why I've been beating my head against the wall.

Of course the transponder bypass for this starter module is discontinued. Other manufacturers will integrate with it ok?

Thanks again

Depending on which module you use, the way it connects will vary. If you use the data cable method, make sure that the starter is programmed to the correct protocol or just hardwire the two to one another.
