Hi, I have a 98 Silverado ext. cab long bed and I have been looking for an alarm on and off for the last few months (basically since I got the truck).  I have been thinking about the Viper 790XV I beileve it is (the one with the 2 way LCD paging system) [about $500 installed].  Or the Hornet 554T (which is essentially the same thing but has the temp and time) [about $500 installed].  I can also get the crimestopper 2015 (LCD pager system) [about $369 installed with one remote]for a lot less (I'm going to have the alarm installed profesionally).  Also, Circuit City also has the Audiovox Prestige alarm 994C I believe for about $400 installed.  I want an alarm that is reliable and the remote start is a benefit...and I may get window rolldown/up.  :)

What is a good reliable system?  I also would like to add on some other sensors and such but I'm not sure what would be the best especially for my truck (and it does have a cap on it...but that may or may not stay on).  One other thing a bodylift woln't have any effect on an alarm correct?

The hornet is the way to go. The shop that I work at sells the viper and the hornet. No problems with the hornet but quite a few from the viper.

Thanks for the info.  what would be some good sensors to add on to the system?  should I add a backup battery?  also, since it's a truck should I have a motion sensor around the bed?
