My first install - I'm a 20+ year mechanic and have no problem with wiring but some of the terms I'm not familiar with and could use some help.

2006 Ford E350, gas engine if it matters. Has factory keyless entry but no alarm. Some of the 24 pin harness I don't know if I need or not. Not using any of the aux outputs - only using the system to lock, unlock and start.

1 pnk/wht (-) 200mA Ignition 2/Flex OUTPUT *don't think I need this
2 blu/wht (-) 200mA 2nd status/rear defogger output *not used
3 RED / wht (-) 200mA Trunk release output *not used
4 blk/yel (-) 200mA Dome light output *undecided if I'll use
5 dk blue (-) 200mA Status output *dont think I need this
6 wht/blk (-) 200mA Aux 3 output *not used
7 wht/vio (-) 200mA Aux 1 output *not used
8 org/blk (-) 200mA Aux 4 output *not used
9 gray    (-) Hood pin input *used
10 blue        Factory horn input *not used
11 wht/blu     Activation input *???
12 vio/wht     Tach input *#1 inj
13 blk/wht     (-) Neutral Safety/Parking br *grounded
14 grn/blk     Factory alarm disarm output *not used
15 green       (-) Door input *not used - automatic
16 empty
17 pink        (-) 200mA Ignition 1 output *do I need this?
18 violet      (+) door input *not used - automatic
19 vio/blk     (-) 200mA Aux 2 output *not used
20 brown       (+) brake shutdown *used
21 vio/yel     (-) 200mA starter output *do I need this?
22 gry/blk     (-) diesel wait *not used
23 orange      (-) 200mA Accessory output *not used
24 grn/wht     (-) 200mA Factory alarm output *not used

The ignition and starter output are the ones I don't understand. Do these need to be hooked to anything for proper function? If I understand correctly, I do not - these are for triggering other functions or accessories. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

*     These ignition outputs are used to control relays if needed for additional ignition circuits like the ACC2 circuit.
**    If you Dome light comes on with an Unlock from the Viper, you won't need this wire.
***   Typically used for bypass module control. Your E350 does not have a PATS system.
**** The Activation input is a way to initiate a R/S instead of using the R/S FOB's.

Bulldog Security lists these ignition wires :
12 VOLT CONSTANT LIGHT GREEN/ PURPLE (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
STARTER WHITE/ PINK (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 1 PINK/LIGHT GREEN (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2 BLACK/ LIGHT GREEN (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 1 GRAY / YELLOW (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 2 RED (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Test your ignition switch wires to see if it has the same setup. If there is an ACC2 wire, the Viper can not directly support
it and you should never connect one R/S ignition output to two vehicle wires. The extra relay will keep these two ACC circuits
isolated like the factory system. Relay wiring below :
Relay Pin 85 to Viper Orange (-) 200mA Accessory output
Relay Pins 86 and 87 to +12V constant through 20 Amp fuse
Relay Pin 30 to E350 ACC2 RED (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Relay Pin 87a not used - insulate

Thank you very much. Do I need to hook up the ACC wires if I am not using any accessory outputs?

I believe that the thick Gray / YELLOW is needed for the heat / AC fan motor. Personally, I like to duplicate what the key does during a normal start up so I power both ACC circuits.

Good enough for me - I have relays standing by and will use them. Thanks again!

No red wire in the ignition switch harness, so no ACC2

I've gone into overthinking mode and now am doubting some of my other planned connections.

Main Harness, 6 pin connector
H/1 RED (+)12VDC Constant input *using empty slot in fusebox
H/2 BLACK (-) Chassis Ground *wire wrapped around deck screw (not really)
H/3 BROWN (-) 200mA Horn Honk Output *Not using
H/4 WHITE/ BROWN Light flash isolation wire - pin 87 light flash relay *Single filament parking light, don't believe I need this
H/5 WHITE Pin 30 of light flash relay *got it
H/6 ORANGE 500mA Ground When Armed Output *not using

Door Lock, 3 pin connector
*no questions*

Remote Start, 8 pin connector
1 RED / BLK (+) 12VDC Constant input for ACC and starter relays *using empty slot in fusebox
2 PNK/BLK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87a key side (if req) of FLEX relay *not using
3 PNK/WHT (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT *now unsure if I need
4 RED (+) 12VDC Constant input for ignition 1 relay *using empty slot in fusebox
5 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT *WHT/PNK from IGN SW
6 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT *GRAY/YEL from IGN SW
7 RED / WHT (+) 12VDC CONSTANT INPUT for ignition 2 and flex relays *now unsure if I need this
8 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT *the input/output has me confused - what do I do with this one?

As soon as I post this, I am going to go donate to the site - it's a great resource and I thank you for the help!

H/3 BROWN (-) 200mA Horn Honk Output *Not using        DARK BLUE (-) @ STEERING COLUMN HARNESS
H/4 WHITE/ BROWN Light flash isolation wire - pin 87 light flash relay *Single filament parking light, don't believe I need this
H/5 WHITE Pin 30 of light flash relay *got it    set jumper to (+)   Brown wire @ Headlight switch
H/6 ORANGE 500mA Ground When Armed Output *not using

Door Lock, 3 pin connector
*no questions*

Remote Start, 8 pin connector
1 RED / BLK (+) 12VDC Constant input for ACC and starter relays Light GREEN/ Purple @ ignition switch harness
2 PNK/BLK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87a key side (if req) *not using
3 PNK/WHT (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT           BLACK/ Light Green @ ignition switch harness
4 RED (+) 12VDC Constant input for ignition 1 relay   Light GREEN/ Purple @ ignition switch harness
5 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT            *WHT/PNK from IGN SW
6 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT          *GRAY/YEL from IGN SW
7 RED / WHT (+) 12VDC CONSTANT INPUT for ignition 2     +12V constant Light GREEN/ Purple @ ignition switch harness
8 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT     Pink/Light Green @ ignition switch harness

Typically, there are multiple Light GREEN/ Purple wires in the ignition switch harness, split the Vipers load between them.

Hopefully these are the last questions:

I do not want the honk output - neighbor has that on the RS on his Camaro and it annoys me. Do I need to connect that for the RS to function?

When you said split the load between the three light GREEN/ purple wires on the ign switch - (there are three), did you mean I should take pin 1 on the 8 pin harness and connect to all those three wires *or* use the other two light green / purple wires to power other 12v + constant inputs

Thanks again and Happy New Year!

Horn is not mandatory at all. Can be a help with programming, etc.

As in each Viper fused power input goes to a different vehicle +12V wire.
Remote Start, 8 pin connector
1 RED / BLK (+) 12VDC Constant input for ACC and starter relays Light GREEN/ Purple #1 @ ignition switch harness
2 PNK/BLK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87a key side (if req) *not using
3 PNK/WHT (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT           BLACK/ Light Green @ ignition switch harness
4 RED (+) 12VDC Constant input for ignition 1 relay   Light GREEN/ Purple #2 @ ignition switch harness
5 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT            *WHT/PNK from IGN SW
6 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT          *GRAY/YEL from IGN SW
7 RED / WHT (+) 12VDC CONSTANT INPUT for ignition 2     +12V constant Light GREEN/ Purple #3 @ ignition switch harness
8 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT     Pink/Light Green @ ignition switch harness
