Hello everybody, I would like to start by thanking everyone for this awesome website & forum! I have found a lot of helpful information over the years, however I am kind of stuck this time :(

I decided to buy an Auto Starter for my 2008 Ford Ranger, and thought it was a good idea to just pick up something from a local Canadian Tire (well it was a bad idea), so I got the PROSTART CT-4211TW & it required using DBALL2 which I also got from Canadian Tire.

I did all the wiring to best of my abilities, I did study Electronics for 2 years, so I was fairly confident this wouldn't be too hard to get it working, I was wrong.. I now have spent about 3 days, working on the car constantly and got a nice back pain.. Anyhow, I will list the wiring I have made below, I hope someone can help me out, I am not sure if I am allowed to post Installation Manuals, but if I am allowed.

The following is what I uploaded to my Google Drive: CLICK HERE
- CT-4211TW-4311TW_Comprehensive installation Guide - PROSTART AUTO STARTER
- dball-dball2-ford1_en_ig_vm20150925p - BYPASS MODULE, According to the table, I should use TYPE2, and without alarm system so Type 2a
- Directwire Wiring Diagram for Ford Ranger 2008.pdf - This is the full wiring diagram with pictures, from DirectWire
- Wiring Table - Excel table showing the wiring I did.

The problems I am having,
- Car does not start, I get to the 3rd step of activating the DBALL2 but it does not ever flash GREEN, or turn on the car. it does flash Orange after the 2nd key, not everytime but it does work
- Lock and Unlock does not work, I am thinking I should connect the LOCK & UNLOCK output of the PROSTART to the Actuator instead? I am a little unsure with this one..

I hope some of you can help me out, as I have wrote an email to DBALL2 Company, but I don't think they provide support to consumers directly, rather only to installers that have an account with them :/

Thank you for taking the time in reading this post and have a great day =)

Yes you need to hook up locks from the prostart. the DBall doesn't do door locks on the ford..

Do you have 2 keys? I would learn tach first on the prostart, and make sure the remote start works with the "key in the ignition", before attempting to program the bypass.

Regarding the lock and unlock, i did use the prostart and not the DBALL, i may of expained it wrong on my first post, however I am unsure if the lock and unlock should be hooked up to "Power Lock" & "Power Unlock" as it is a 5 wire system, maybe i need to connect to the the "lock Motor"? That is what I am confused about.

I will defenitly try that out, I did not do the TACH thing, because I got a note in the box saying "you dont have to program anything and its already programmed blah blah"

Thank you for your input sir

Assuming you have power locks in the truck, you should be able to grab the pink / YELLOW (lock), and pink/Lt.green (unlock) in the drivers kick harness to the rear.

May I ask, where did you get those colors from? I dont see this color combination on the documents I have sent of my cars wiring table, and the driver kick harness for the door stuff is impossible to work with, it is way too deep above all the pedals and all that.. thats why i decided to use the SJB instead.

Can I tap to these wires you have mentioned from the SJB "Smart Junction Box", i might just stick a multimeter and check for continuity at SJB too if you could just confirm how you got those color combos :)

Appreciate the help, thank you very much

sorry, thought you had a F150, not a ranger.. Gray / YELLOW (lock) and PURPLE / gray(unlock) in a black plug just behind the obd connector

Hello again,

So I got the bypass to work. (Apparently the problem was that "both my keys are actually the same", Clones) and therefor the DBALL2 Method 1 did not workout, took the DBALL2 for Method 2 at a friends place who has a membership with them, and it worked flawlessly!

HOWEVER: I still do have a problem with the door Lock & Unlock :/
This is what & where I connected the "BROWN (–) Lock output" & "GREEN (–) Unlock output"

This is what was suggested by silvercivicsir above by email. However it is impossible to reach.

Here is a picture of where it is located in my truck! behind the light switch!
