I installed a 4x10 digital remote start with a Viper 9756V2W RF kit.
I installed this in a friends car according to the diagrams given through the xpresskit website for the 4x10 in a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer (without smart key).
Once I was done and programmed the 4x10 (I selected the 7756v remotes as this is what comes in the 9756v2w RF kit). I then followed the steps to learn the keys to the 4x10 (for bypass function) and this worked perfectly.
Then I moved on to pairing the remotes. The antenna goes into pairing mode (light flashing) and I put the remotes into pairing mode, then when I press the lock button which is when it pairs. It always fails. I tried for 2.5 hours every way I could think of and nothing would make it pair.
I'm hoping someone has some experience with the 4x10/5x10 systems that may be able to give me some suggestions or someone who has run into similar issues that could help me out, thanks.

defective antenna? bad antenna cable? I assume neither remote pairs?

Yes, your correct. Neither remote pairs, which makes me think it is either a bad antenna or cable (seems okay as it is powering the antenna but the communication wires may be bad and not the power wires) I've never installed a 4x10 before so I'm unsure if the remotes pair to the antenna or just use the antenna to pair to the 4x10, if so the 4x10 could be bad as well.
I wish there were actual checks that could be done to determine what is happening, but directed pretty much said there is nothing to do except replace parts.

I had a similar issue.. with a DBALL-Pro 2, flashed it for 2way LED remote pack, and only the two way LED would learn, the one way companion remote wouldn't learn. ending up swapping the unit and using a 4806V instead.. (makes me think when you select the "remotes", when flashing the module has something to do with it)
