I have a 1999 GMC Yukon that came with an Astrostart 2514 xr system installed. Apparently, the actual door locks haven't been used for awhile because they are siezed right up, and the keyless antenna is dangling from the windshield. If I touch the remote to the antenna, it works, doors unlock/lock, remote start works. It does not work from several inches away. And definitely not outside of the vehicle...
Clearly I need a new antenna. I tried a couple of different ones, a supercode 6112t? Wrong plug. I just received a DEI 543x xr+, right plug but doesn't respond.
Is there anyone that can tell me what I can do? Or, what kind of antenna specifically, I can buy?
I really just want to lock my vehicle, and not have the tow truck bail me out. Sigh.
