Looking at a vehicle that someone else did the install on, 2012 Chevy Equinox, DBall 2 with T harness, smart start module. basically the RS works as it should (3X lock press on factory fob) however the fob goes dead after start. I know this is more of a vehicle issue as the fob doesn't work as soon as the keysense wire sees it in the switch. Just curious if there is a TSB or workaround that anyone has discovered, or should I just suggest an RF kit for the DBall2 and call it a day? Any help is much appreciated. Also I don't believe the smart start is activated and I can't do it myself so I can't say anything for that working or not.

The factory remote not working when the ignition is ON is normal unless the vehicle has a GM remote starter. You would have to install a RF kit to get around this issue. The DB-ALL2 must be programmed though to work with a RF kit. If the install was done some time ago the installation may also need revised to reflect the updated firmware. There were issues with the original few versions.
