Hey guys. New to the site (as a member). I'm an installer at a shop in Virginia and I have tons of knowledge about audio and video. But remote starts and security systems are new to me..

So yesterday (8/25/17) customer drops off vehicle for a list of things to install. I knock out all the audio and video stuff first. So now comes to the security/ remote start install.

The security/ remote start module is the prestige aps-997e. Bypass module is the idatalink ALCA.

So first Q: I got the bypass wired in no problem except for the data plug that plugs into the prestige module. The plug that came with the idata doesn't quite fit the prestige. It does, but it doesnt.. Lol. Is that ok?

Next Q: I'm pretty sure I have the ignition harness wiring figured out so yea.. my main concern is knowing which wires from the 26 pin harness (prestige) I need to hook up? I have a couple different vehicle specific wiring diagrams but some say the door lock is 5 wire (?) And some say the door lock is negative (?).

Anyone with knowledge on this that's willing to help, I thank you in advance!

If it doesn't fit, check with iData.
All Japanese vehicles use NEG locking.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
