I was wondering about something. I bought a chipped key and got it cut but not programmed yet. I have the bypass module. What would happen if I install the bypass module and ground the wire that enables the bypass module so it is always thinking alarm is trying to start the car and then used my non programmed key to crank the car and left my programmed key in the bypass module?

The car is a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant

ok so I just tried testing this. remote start works fine with bypass module. but if you try the non programmed key with the bypass module turned on it doesnt work. I assume the non programmed rf chip is interfering with the programmed key from the bypass module. :( looks like I will have to brake down and get my key programmed but these places are ridiculous on the cost.

You didn't specify maker and model but for a fact, certain Fords and Mazda won't work if they "see" 2 chips.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

sorry bout that. it is a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant. It looks like the only way is to get my key programmed and just do it right. Thank you for your reply.

**EDIT** Just realized you meant the bypass module. 556uw DEI Universal
