Hi. Getting ready to install alarm/remote start and was considering using posi locks and posi taps this time. Only issue is using the correct size connectors. Do you know what size wire is typically used for lock wires, ignition, starter, lights, etc. Vehicle is 2007 Toyota 4runner.

thank you!

Don't!
Solder.
Those IDC devices shake apart and corrode in a car.
No pro will ever use them and they're banned in the UK.

Great thanks. Will stick with soldering method. The Avital remote start I purchased shows TWO +12V input red wires that need to be connected. According to the wiring diagram, 2007 4runner has a Red constant 12V and a separate White/Blue constant 12V wire at the ignition switch.

1. Should I connect both red wires from the remote start to just one of the vehicle 12V wires or put one on each of vehicle 12V wires?

2. Does it matter if I use the vehicle Red or the vehicle White/Blue wire?

thanks!

Provided each is rated at over 20 amps then 1 red to each gives you better power distribution.

The alternative would be to join both to the thick white wire feeding the BCM/fuse box.
