Hi

I am currently installing a Viper 211HV in a 1994 Toyota. It uses a theft and door module built in one. The door lock system works by the use of ground.

The door switches send a ground to a specific pin on the module and it will move the locks in the corresponding mode. I tested the wires and I can apply a ground to the wires manually and the locks will move.

On the Viper 211HV, it shows the H1/5 and H1/8 but does not state if they can send ground.

On the Viper 3100V, it shows a door lock harness but two wires show negative and positive lock and unlock per wire which has me confused. How can two wires send four signals?

H-1,7 and h-1,9 are the inputs for them. Put them to ground and you'll have your ground outputs.

For which model? Could you look at the 3100H? It might be the H1/5 for the 3100H?

The 3100V does not have built in lock relays like the 211H and is slightly less flexable. The 3100V
has what is called "push-pull" lock outputs. Most manufacturers stopped make units with push-pull
lock outputs a while ago.   

As you mentioned, the 3100V H2/1 Green wire can supply the (-) Lock output signal or a (+) Unlock
signal. It actually does both. If you press Lock on the remote, the 3100V will output a (-) on the Green
wire and a (+) on the Blue wire. On your Type B vehicle that requires (-) lock pulses, the Blue wire
would go to the (-) Unlock wire and the (+) pulse generated with a Lock command would be ignored.
However, in practice, most installers would install a 1N4001 diode on these lock wires to block the unused,
unwanted, opposite polarity signal. In your case with a Type B (-) lock vehicle, the diodes band would be
towards the 3100V to block the (+) pulse from getting to the car.

On the 3100V, the H1/5 wire is an input for that units alarm function and does not control the door
locks.

Depends on your needs. Either will directly interface the Toyota locks. The 3100V can do the keyless entry and perform alarm / security functions while the 211HV can only do the locks. With the 3100V, you should add the diodes to the lock output wires. Diodes are cheap if you can wait to get them in the mail.

With Kreg here diodes are mandatory AFAIC on those flip flop outputs of the 3100.

Okay.

This description has helped a ton. I can just ground the two inputs for the lock and unlock signal to the chassis wire and it will output just a signal for ground which will be sent to the stock theft computer to operate the locks?

Everything that is on this circuit already has a relay built into it already so I can just trigger the coil and activate whatever I need to.
