just wanted to know if the cs7000 brain has a built in relay for the trunk release or do I need to add a external one for a trunk pop solenoid

Yes, there is a wire on the main harness (CN1, Green/White wire) that’s jumper-selectable for (+) trunk output (default is + parking lights, so you’re out of luck if you need both).
