planning for an install of a crimestopper rs7-g5 remote starter, I would like to set this up with a transponder chip that is attached to the column (cheating), in order to do this the way i want it looks like i can switch the power supply with a relay that normally runs to the immo amp via the accessory position on the ignition wires, What I don't know going into it though is if the power supply that activates the immo amplifier has constant power while the vehicle is running or if it turns off after a successful start of the vehicle, Does anyone know the answer to this before i splice into the wires to check?

Year make model of vehicle? I would never recommend fully bypassing the transponder. That could be an issue with the insurance company if anything every happened.

It usually shuts down about a minute after you remove the key depending on make and model.
You just need to place the chip in a position where the (chipless) key will start the car, no wiring required placed somewhere on antenna (plastic cover at key side of ignition switch)around ignition switch.
Warning if this is a Ford or Mazda you'll need to remove chips from both keys.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
