Hey guys so i went ahead and installed a directed 5x10 in my lexus and followed the PDF from directechs https://directechs.blob.core.windows.net/documents/dds-tl8_fsg_en_nf20170823.pdf . I was able to pair a 2 way remote, successfully program the module and things like that but the car doesnt even attempt to remote start(starts fine manually). In the PDF it says the MC501 is optional and grayed out so assumed it was not necessary . I think i need to install the MC501 relay pack to make the remote start work correctly because i was looking at some of their beta firmwares and the pdf stated it did need the MC501. The dash light comes on and says CHECK ELEC KEY ACCESS. samething happens if i have the oem key fob in the car. If some one can just clear this up for me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Im also thinking it could be something as simple as programming but i dont have access to directechs anymore since they removed all their "lite users" so i cant even check the modules configuration. I would never ask for your directechs account info but if anyone is willing to log into my PC via team viewer remotely so i can check the settings on my module i would appreciate it. I will gladly compensate you for your time

The directed firmwares are flawed on these cars. Pull the 5 amp dcm fuse out under the hood and see if it remote starts and report back.

yes!! pulling the dcm fuse allowed the car to successfully remote start. what is the next step?

I talked to directed they said there's a pink wire pin 11 in the driver kick panel that you need to cut and interface with a relay. On the 5x10 there is a few extra relays not in use so i am able to use the orange/red & yellow/red for this. Can you confirm that the location of this plug is in the driver kick, bottom right 64 pin connector, pin 11(pink)posted_image

Yes, that's the driver kick panel.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

but is it the correct connector inside the driver kick?

Test the wire. It will be at 12 volts. Pull the dcm fuse and it will drop to 0 volts. I don't think the orange/red yellow/red relay is timed correctly for this.

I got everything working. That is the correct wire to interrupt for the DCM circuit. Onboard 5x10 relays would not work, had to wire a seperate relay for the pink DCM wire. 86-[12V] 85-[status output OR GWR] 87A-[DCM Pink wire Connector side] 30-DCM Pin wire vehicle side]. Thanks again for your help. The firmware seems to be pretty reliable after interfacing with this dcm wire even though the 5x10 or the DB2/DB3 guides make no mention of this. Hopefully this will help some one in the future.posted_image
