Hi all,
I installed an Autopage RS-730A and all is working except door locks. I was reading another thread and it talked about either installing relays on each lock/unlock signal wire from unit with resistors on each wire. Someone also suggested adding diodes to signal wires with resistors, but no relays. Initially with resistors installed on both signal wires, if I connected one wire at a time to the purple w dkblue wire, vehicle door lock wire, the locks would work. I installed diodes on both wires and they don't work by them selves or when both are connected. Is this a case for the relays and capacitors? 2004 Dodge 2500 gas truck. Thanks for any help that you all can give me. Driving me nuts.

Use 2 relays and no diodes. The unlock needs a 470 ohm resistor and lock needs a 2,000 ohm resistor. One relay for lock and the other for unlock. The pulses are to ground and the unlock needs a double pulse to unlock all doors. You must use relays to give the vehicle a good ground pulse through the resistors. Diodes will block pulses if used wrong and add resistance.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but Ive read several places that that truck needs 330 ohm and 820 ohm resistors. Ill try the relays though. Thanks for the input and quick reply.

Sorry, but now I'm confused. I thought it was the vehicle that determined which resisters you used. Why would the unit brand matter. Doesn't the unit send a 12v signal to the truck and the resisters change the signal to what the truck recognizes as lock or unlock?
