Hey everyone,

So i bought a 2007 Impreza 5speed manual 2 weeks ago, it has an autostart AS1780 remote start in it. i was doing the timing belt and had disconnected the battery for about a week (waiting on parts) got it all back together but can seem to get my autostart to work, when its just parked the blue LED flashes fast 24/7 and buttons on my remote do nothing. I tried to reprogram the fob but i do not have a hood pin to enter programming mode
Any one have any tips? can i get by with out a hood pin being installed?

The unit itself has a program button that you can press in the same manner as the hood switch. The led will stay solid blue if you get it right: the. It’s ignition on off and hold the lock button and you should hear some noticeable little clicks and tics and the operation is all done.
However, remotes losing programming over dead battery is common, there are plenty more hints that could be the issue. Download the guide and follow the procedures and you should be able to figure it out.
Cheers!

if it is a newer autostart, with a button on the antenna, you can turn on the ignition and press the button (same as opening the hood)

ok so update, i got the remote programmed back to the module, and my lock and unlock features now work, but i can't get it to remote start? being a manual i put it into ready mode (foot on brake, brakes up down up, release brake) then turn the key off and car should stay running but it shuts off right away

There is another mode to set the starter. Hand brake two times is one and the other is as follows:
Vehicle running put in neutral.
With key in the ignition press the unlock button parklights will flash
Turn vehicle off...car remains running
Exit vehicle ensure all doors are closed
Press lock on the remote and vehicle shuts down.

This is a pretty common method and I believe is the default setting for manuals...give it a whirl. Good luck

Hey shark, so i gave that a try but no luck. I'm thinking the memory got wiped in the box but its weird i can still lock and unlock the doors, let just say the memory got wiped, how do i go about reprogramming the start feature (as if it was just installed)

UPDATE, i relearned the tach and now it working again, only difference is ready mode is now brake on and push the start button while its running instead of brake up down up
