I am having a bit of an issue wiring up the door trigger for my Toyota Supra.

I am using that black and red wire for my door trigger (Viper 5706V) and I having issues. My dome light, ignition light, and exterior key light are all illuminated. The open door warning light is also illuminated. I am not entirely sure if that is the proper wire to use or should I use the red/white wire.

The reason I picked the black/red wire is out of convenience. I figured when the light turns on, it should ground the wire however, I might need a diode to block flow back from the alarm? I am a bit confused honestly.

Go the driver kick panel, plugs behind, test, use a meter red probe to constant 12V+, black probe to suspect wire (red/white but it's been 20 years!),press in factory door switch, you d should see 0V you will get a read when you release the switch it will go to 12V.
That or the dome light.

It is for a 1996. I was hoping I could use that wire and was wondering why I couldn't? I am sure I can go looking for the red and wire wire but figured I could do this first to figure out why.

Craig that was the last shape, the last two Supras used the same colour, those wonderful days when Toyota kept to the same colours!

The problem is if you look at the diagram, the red/white wire only refer to the front doors and not the hatch. I wanted to use the black and red wire but after checking my wiring diagram and the plug, I am definitely having some kind of phantom wiring/grounding issue. I need to take a look at another wiring diagram and see if mine is different.

If I remember the red/white also does the hatch, have you tested (forget the diagram).
