Looking to install a remote start / keyless entry in my older 2003 S10 Blazer. Seems like most new style remotes have vertical buttons inline. I really prefer OE style button remotes w/ 4 buttons side by side / top and bottom. I have come across a few systems and any input to help my decision would be great. thanks.

Personally, I would stick with a major brand. The off-brands can be problematic.
I have used a bunch of Ultra Start U1272's over the years and found them to be very reliable and easy to program. The other
two units you mentioned I have never used and would consider them off-brands. They might be great but not real common.
There are a few other units that have 4 button side by side remotes. I have used the Avital 4103LX and while the remotes
are not exactly what you are looking for, they are similar in shape. Another unit I have used frequently is the Compustar
CS800-s. They have the remotes you want and are very available and reliable systems. Compustar has a updated version,
CS920-s, which costs more but has similar remotes. If cost is not a major consideration and you needed longer range, you
could go with a Compustar FT7200-s and pair that with their RF-P1WG7-SP Remote kit. The remotes look the same but have
a 3,000 foot range.

The Panther is made by Audivox if that makes any difference. Ultra start looks fine but I am still debating if I need a security alarm. Compustar appears to make a great product but zero support for a DIY install. I read the install manual for the ft-7200 and feel confident I could have all the wiring sorted it just seems like a lot room for mistakes w/ programming???

Yes, DIY support is always an issue. None of the major brands will provide support for the DIYer. The more basic the
system, the easier it will be to complete the install. Each brand and model has its' own strengths and weaknesses.
The Compustar programming can get complicated with the more expensive systems. There is a programmer, the OP500,
that makes things easier.
For your S10 Blazer, you will need a Passlock2 bypass module and a DEI 451m Door Lock module ( or 2 relays ).
