Hi everyone, I'm putting in a remote start (Avital 4105L) with a immobilizer bypass (DEI 556U) for a friend of mine in a 2007 Buick Allure ( A rebadged Lacrosse for Canada), i think i have the remote start all done but I'm having some issues with the immobilizer, or i think with the immobilizer. If i put the key against the ignition cylinder ( Not in the cylinder) and press the remote start button on the remote, everything seems to work, the car starts and accessories run, and the brake shuts down the vehicle, however if the key is not near nothing happens. I have the transponder ring from the 556U between the pass-key III module and the plastic outer cover of the ignition cylinder, black to ground, red to B+, blue to the remote start system, the key in the module, and have tried both winding jumper positions and moving the transponder ring around to no avail. Is there any way to tell/test if the 556U is working? Am i missing something? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Where is the 556U Blue wire connected to? Should be the 4105L's BLUE STATUS OUTPUT wire.

Yes the blue wire goes to the 4105L's status output wire

If you have one of the newer 556U's with the preformed antenna ring, it should go on the key side of the PK3 plastic antenna pick-up ring.

Double check that the antenna harness is plugged in to the 556U securely.

The black plastic key head should be centered under the 556U black receiver ring and secured in place.

You could try a test by connecting the 556U Blue wire to Chassis Ground and then a remote start.

Thanks for the help Kreg357! that pointed me in the right direction. the remote start wasn't giving a good ground to the 556U. I went over the wiring again to see if I spliced something wrong or didn't get a good ground for it, but everything seemed fine. My friend got another avital and plugged it in and away it went. So it was a DOA remote start.

Thanks again, and Merry Christmas
