System seems to be functioning fine otherwise. The led on unit is steady flashing all the time.

Start the engine with the key and hold down the valet button until the led comes on solid (within a few seconds). Kill the engine and try to remote start again.

I did try that. The led never changed. I'm more curious about the blinking led light, I've never experienced that before with DEI products.

You mentioned it cranks but won't start. Do you get a security light in the cluster when it tries to start? If so you have a problem with your bypass. Does it try to start three times and then quits? Have you done the remote start shutdown diagnostics?

On a DEI alarm, the constant flashing means it's armed, but you don't have an alarm, so I don't know what that means. You might try unplugging the unit, and shorting both of the power input pins (fused wires) to the ground pin on the main harness. Then plug it back in and see if that made a difference.

No security light comes on. No alarm on the vehicle. It does try 3 times then shuts down. I did the shutdown diagnostic....9 flashes, low voltage.

Voltage checking may not work on your car. You can try virtual tach, but the best solution is to connect a tach signal to the violet/white on the remote start harness:

Once that is done, try to relearn the tach.

I did try hooking tach wire up as well, did nt change anything. But now I remember I never went into menu and changed the setting

Ok so I did get a bitwriter and changed the settings for tach, virtual or voltage, getting proper signals for all and still won't start. Cranks appropriately, but won't run. Tried with the key on as well. I've installed many of these and never had a situation like this.

If you start it with the key, backprobe the tach wire at the Avital unit, and if you've got good signal, chances are you have a bad unit. It happens.
