Hi folks, been awhile since I've visited this site. I'm an amateur and have successfully installed 5 bulldog remote start systems over the years, (my vehicles only) with no problems, and I'm aware they are out of business. Now I want a remote starter for my 08 equinox with passkeyIII. I would like a recommendation for a simple 2way remote start only system, and the transponder bypass kit of your liking, or a permanent disable would be fine. Its an old work car for me and not highly likely to be stolen...so tell me whats your favorite setup and price is always an issue of course.

My suggestion with price, DIY status and ease of programming as considerations would be :

Compustar CS800-s Remote start with keyless entry   ~ $42.00 online price

ADS AL-CA flashed with AL(DL)-GM10 firmware        ~ $60.00 online price with firmware flashed by seller

A fairly complete install guide comes with the CS-800-s. The option programming is pretty easy with the remotes.
The ADS AL-CA w/GM10 firmware can go full 2-way D2D with the CS800-s. The install guide for the ADS AL-CA w/GM10
firmware is very complete and accurate. Just make sure you buy from a reliable online seller that will flash the
bypass module to your specific vehicle needs.

Wow, I rarely have need to visit this forum, and I moved on from my original post last winter without reading the reply. I am interested once again in a remote starter, but having trouble understanding just where to search for the items you mentioned in your reply. Thanks for the info and I'll try to do my homework on this shopping list. If anyone can shed any more light on these items in more detail I'd sure appreciate it.
