Hi,

I installed a Viper 4105v (new style with oval remote instead of tombstone), and a DBALL3 onto my 03 Sonoma 4.3L auto this weekend.

I actually got the DBALL flashed by the seller and he sent me the wiring guide and install manual (right from Directed and actually had live connector pics and everything). All went about as I expected (I have installed a dozen or so RS systems in the past). The only issue that I am having is that the DBALL3 will not learn the Passlock2 resistor values. I can go into the learn mode by pressing the button and plugging in the 4 wire connector (light goes yellow and release) and then it goes red, turn key to run and then pit in in drive and turn key to run. It will not learn though and it goes to a red light that flashes 3x.

Everything else seems to work, so the J1850 is good, the physical wiring for the start circuit and accessories are good, but since the DBALL3 will not learn or provide the Passlock2 value it goes into security lock out.

As per the instructions the PPL/BRN and PPL/GRN both go to the yellow R-code wire in the ign switch harness. It just seemed weird that they both went there with no cutting, or not landing on the v-ref low and the r-code.

   Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tweaked

I should have mentioned that it is a regular key and that once the security mode times out that it will start fine with the key. As far as I know it has never had a security issue (mine for about a year).

Thanks again.
