Installing Viper 5305

Issue: Can't get door locks to work. Signal is coming from alarm but when I connect the the appropriate wires from the alarm (blue and green wires) to the lock and unlock wires of vehicle the locks don't respond to the alarm being armed and disarmed. Not sure if need a relay. I thought it was a simple two-wire connect...Guess not.....Any suggestions?

Have you verified the factory wiring with a meter (negative pulse, correct)? Have you tested to make sure the lock outputs on the viper work?

If you've already done the above and both check out, momentarily jump each wire to ground. You can do this with a test light. If this works, then just wire up a couple relays:

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

1. I connected a relay between the alarm and the factory locks to send a 12v positive pulse to the locks but kept blowing fuses every time I armed the alarm. I guess I need to send a negative pulse with the relay instead of a positive?
2. It’s a brand viper alarm out the box. And the lock outputs work.
3. You may have a point with the negative jumper. I’ll try it with some relays. I do recall accidentally touching one of the wires with my test light and hearing the factory relay clicking (but it didn’t lock or unlock….just made clicking noises).

Still struggling.......2014 Genesis Coupe (Alarm: Viper 3305).....
Tech sheet says locks are “negative”……Used a voltmeter to test….Found that a positive 12volt current/pulse locks and unlocks the doors. Set up my relays (one for lock and one for unlock) to send that same 12volt current/pulse to the locks. Wired everything up….But every time I hit the lock/unlock button I blow a fuse on the relays….I bench-tested the relays to ensure I wired them correctly. But once I put them in the car I kept blowing a fuse. What gives?

Red and Orange at dash fusebox rear. 28 pin plug. Is that what you have?

Smart key or regular key?

Hyundai is gonna require you hook up the lock detection wire along with the lock/unlock and possible factory alarm arm/disarm. have to have a relay and 3 diodes. You'll have to google directed tech doc 1300 for the wiring. Do not hook up positive to anything lock related, unless you want to replace the door ecu.

33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!
