I've wondered this for a while. My wife had her 2007 Toyota Solara installed with a remote start YEARS ago... it's fine, works, but one thing I never understood is when I lock/unlock using the avital fob the car doesn't make any chirp noises. When I do so with the factory Toyota fob it chirps. Is there a reason for this? I'd have to dig into the car to find exactly which avital she has but the fobs are the black avital ones with glow in the dark buttons.

I noticed too when you remote start the vehicle the immobilizer dash light will blink and then when you get in the car and turn the key to the on position to drive away the icon will continue to blink the entire time. Is that also normal? Again, remote start works fine, turns off, turns on…etc. No issues with that. Parking lights illuminate when you have it on to let you know it’s running.

Thanks,
-Nigel

No Chirp is normal. On the newer Toyota's, with the use a data bypass module, Keyless entry codes are sent so the chirp remains. (your 2007 is too old / doesn't support this function).
