Remote Start Install on 2005 F-250 Diesel

Hello, first post! I am installing a Directed 4x03 remote start (https://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/IG/Avital/N4113%202012-01%20web.pdf) on a 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel that has factory keyless entry with no PATS/smart key. I have wired in the following wires and the unit will not do anything at all when I try to remote start it:

ground wire to chassis ground
light flash output to brown parking light wire
tachometer input to the spare green/white wire
brake shutdown input to the light green brake wire
output to primary ignition circuit red/green ignition wire
output to second ignition/accessory circuit to the pink/white wire
output to starter circuit to pink wire
high current 30A 12v input to yellow wire at ignition harness

I have also done the tach learning and also paired the remote to the remote start box. I read on some forums that people use a relay for the second ignition or something similar but I do not have any relay wired up. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? This is my first remote start installation so any help would be appreciated.

Assuming the F250 SD has auto trans, you need this wire to chassis ground :
   H2/1 BLACK/WHITE (-) NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH INPUT

Your ignition wires don't look correct to me. Did you use a Digital Multi Meter to
test and verify them? Additionally, if you want the heater fans to come on during a
remote start, you need to connect the ACC wires. Here is a link to a Pictorial on

Thanks for your reply. I actually did wire the neutral safety switch input on the remote start to chassis ground but forgot to include that in my first post, sorry. I don't care about the heater fans, but will double check the ignition wires with my DVOM. It's just odd that the parking lights won't come on, or anything...wondering if the remote start unit is bad as it was refurbished when I bought it.

Did you insert the Parking Light jumper on to the correct 2 pins for (+) Parking Lights?

Use the DMM to verify good (+) 12V power at the connector where the two thick Red wires
attach to the 4x03.

Double check that all of the 4x03 harnesses are securely attached.

Thanks for your reply, as I see that you had written a nice article about this install. Everything you said checked out okay. Any other ideas? No extra relay is needed correct?

The extra relay would be needed to power all the ignition wires, assuming you wanted to be able to
heat or cool the trucks interior as part of the remote engine start up.

Can't think of anything else. You paired the remotes, got a successful Tach Learn and have the
Neutral Safety wire to chassis ground. The 4x03 is for Auto Trans vehicles only so it can't be
the clutch interlock. With a Diesel, you would want to program for a 15 second Wait-To-Start
period with Menu 2, Item 10.

If you don't have it, download the full 4103 Install Guide from the Downloads section. You can
read and do the Shutdown Diagnostics routine to help locate the issue.
