hey everyone. Can anyone give me an idea as to when resistors are necessary. I am installing an alarm/remote starter combo on my 1999 camry and dont want to miss using them if I have to. there is an existing aftermarket alarm already installed and there does not appear to be any resistors installed with it. It does operate my door locks as well if that means anything.

Will I need any to hook up the remote starter?

I already have the relay thing worked out for my trunk release, so not a total beginner, but could use some resistor info.

To answer your question, no.
Resistors are not needed for your car, in either the lock/unlock or the remote start for your vehicle.

And if it already has an aftermarket alarm, use the lock and unlock wires off of it to make work a little more easier for you.

However, I do believe you need a by-pass for the toyota immobilizer. if it's a DEI Alarm it's part number 555F or you can use the 555U.

No Immobilizer needed as this model (4 cyl. Ce) does not have the factiory alrm and no key with the chip.
