Alright all you profesional installer's how do you connect a 4gauge ring terminal to 4gauge wire. The wire crimper I have only goes to 10gauge wire. Is there a special tool you all have to crimp 4gauge connectors?

Yes there are several crimp tools out there. Your best bet would be to go to an electrical supply house and get one that is adjustable so you can crimp wire from # 8 to about #2. It has a screw adjustment and does various size crimps.

Another alternative is to get a small plumbers torch and to hold the copper ring terminal in a table clamp, cut back the insulation a half inch back on the wire and insert the wire into the ring terminal, using a low flame on the ring terminal get it hot and feed the rosin core sloder into the ring terminal.

Let the ring terminal cool off a while and then you have your soldered connection.
