For a 2005 F250 Diesel. The brain has died and I need to replace it. I'd like to replace it with something that will be as minimally invasive (read simple) to install, preferably using as much of the DEI wiring and setup that I already have. I want it to be 2-way. I have tried for over a year to find a suitable replacement brain for this unit for a reasonable price and I'm tired of waiting. My unit does not UNLOCK the door when it disarms now, and we have troubleshot it here and determined it is some sort of internal fault or relay.

So, are there any current units that will pretty much plug and play with the same wires, even if I have to cut the DEI connector off and reuse the same ones in a different order?

Viper 3305 looks pretty similar but the door lock harness is 3 wire instead of 7 and it does not use an 'immobilizer' harness like my old one, so I don't know how it works now.

The 5305 looks good too but has a lot more wires and remote start that I don't know how to wire up.

You'll be able to reuse the wiring you got but you'll have to adapt it to whatever new system you decide to get. You won't find anything directly plug and play with your old system in the new model units, sorry.

In that regard, which DEI alarm would be the 'easiest' one to adapt? I don't need remote start, but I do need 2-way paging with a good distance.

It looks like the DEI 3305 models will be the most similar. It looks like the main harness is identical aside from being reversed, so that's pretty much plug and play after matching wire colors to my existing harness.

What IS different is that my existing alarm has a 7 pin door lock harness, and the 3305 has a 3 pin. I don't know how to reconcile that.

My original alarm has a 3 pin 'Starter Immobilizer' and I do not know how to uninstall that and reconcile with the 3305. Does the 3305 system come supplied with a starter kill relay?
