Hi everyone I’m trying to install an audiovox prestige aps997e on my 2006 3.5L crewcab GMC Canyon, my question is if I use the passlock bypass method do I still need a bypass module? I was thinking of getting the flashlogic FLcan

Personally, I think it's worth the extra money to go with the FLCAN flashed with the DL-GM4 firmware for that truck.

A few reasons...

The full featured FLCAN bypass module will handle the trucks power locks and factory alarm for you and simplify the install
while providing more reliable locks / alarms control.

While not really an issue in models prior to 2008, the Passlock2 bypass could be problematic using resistors and relays and
some basic Passlock2 bypass modules. Using the FLCAN and following the install guide exactly will eliminate any Passlock2
issues and provide reliable remote starting.

Here are a few photos of the wires :

These are from a 2008 Colorado. The ignition wires are at a connector found on the drivers side,
under the dash on the inner firewall. A little easier that the ignition switch inside the steering
column.

Soldering is fun!
