Hi
I will be installing a Viper 5706vr in a Dodge 1998 Neon, and I need help with the wiring. I am assuming all the fused wires go to a 12V power source, but I'm unsure about the others.

1 NC No Connection
2 RED/BLACK (+) FUSED 12V ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT
3 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY
4 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT
5 RED (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 1 INPUT
6 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
7 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
8 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT
9 RED/WHITE (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87
10 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT

Here is a link to the wire info from Bulldog Security :
https://diagrams.marktoonen.nl/printlist.aspx?MakeID=16&ModelID=14836

Take notice of the Air Bag wire warning. Those wires are not in a separate Yellow sleeve.
Be careful when testing any wire in that area and use only a Digital Multi Meter.

Going by the Bulldog wire info, your Ignition wire connections would look like this :

1 NC No Connection
2 RED/BLACK (+) FUSED 12V ACC/STARTER INPUT..........RED (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
3 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side.......Not Used
4 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT .....Not Used
5 RED (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 1 INPUT ................PINK/BLACK (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
6 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE) ................YELLOW (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS \
7 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE) ..............YELLOW (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS /   cut wire
8 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT .......................BLACK/ORANGE (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
9 RED/WHITE (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 2.................Not Used
10 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT..................DARK BLUE (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Thank you.

Will I need relays for the door lock and door unlock outputs, because the Neon only has negative trigger for the doors?

Also, if you don't mind, could you please explain where these wires go?

Need some more info about your car.
Is it a U.S. model?
Does it have a manual transmission or an Automatic transmission?
U.S. models don't have any type of transponder based ignition immobilizer, does your car?

If your car has power door locks, you should get a Directed 451M door lock module. It will make controlling the door
locks easy with a nice small package and simple Viper connection. Follow the Type C wiring using these Neon wires :
POWER LOCK..........ORANGE/VIOLET (TYPE C)......IN TAPED HARNESS from DRIVERS DOOR
POWER UNLOCK.....PINK/VIOLET (TYPE C).............IN TAPED HARNESS from DRIVERS DOOR

1 PNK/WHITE (-) 200mA Ignition 2/Flex OUTPUT..................................not used

2 BLUE/WHITE (-) 200mA 2ND STATUS /REAR DEFOG....................not used

3 RED/WHITE (-) 200mA TRUNK RELEASE OUTPUT........................not used

4 BLACK/YELLOW (-) 200mA DOME LIGHT OUTPUT.......................YELLOW (-)   AT ANY Door PIN SWITCH

5 DARK BLUE (-) 200mA STATUS OUTPUT...........................................not used

6 WHITE/BLACK (-) 200mA AUX 3 OUTPUT..........................................not used

7 WHITE/VIOLET (-) 200mA AUX 1 OUTPUT.........................................not used

8 ORANGE/BLACK (-) 200mA AUX 4 OUTPUT......................................not used

9 GRAY (-) HOOD PIN INPUT (NC OR NO)...........................................to kit supplied hood pin

10 BLUE (-) TRUNK PIN (N/C OR N/O)................................................GRAY/BLACK (-) AT LIGHT IN TRUNK

11 WHITE/BLUE ACTIVATION INPUT..................................................not used

12 VIOLET/WHITE TACHOMETER INPUT.......................................TAN/BLUE or BLACK/GRAY (AC) @ COIL PACK

13 BLACK/WHITE (-) NEUTRAL SAFETY /PARKING BRAKE........Depends on MT or AT

14 GREEN/BLACK (-) 200mA FACTORY ALARM DISARM..............not used

15 GREEN* (-) DOOR INPUT..................................................................YELLOW/BLACK (-)   BEHIND HEADLIGHT SWITCH

16 BROWN/BLACK (-) 200mA HORN HONK OUTPUT......................BLACK/RED (-)   @ STEERING COLUMN HARNESS

17 PINK (-) 200mA IGNITION 1 OUTPUT..............................................not useed

18 VIOLET* (+) DOOR INPUT.................................................................not used

19 VIOLET/BLACK (-) 200mA AUX 2 OUTPUT......................................not used

20 BROWN (+) BRAKE SHUTDOWN INPUT.......................................WHITE/TAN (+)   AT SWITCH ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL or could be
……………………………………………………………………………… WHITE with GOLD Dots (+) @ SWITCH ABOVE BRAKE PEDA

2 1 VIOLET/YELLOW (-) 200mA STARTER OUTPUT...........................not used

22 GRAY/BLACK (-) DIESEL WAIT TO START INPUT.......................not used

23 ORANGE (-) 200mA ACCESSORY OUTPUT.....................................not used

24 GREEN/WHITE (-) 200mA FACTORY ALARM ARM OUTPUT.....not used

It was imported to Australia and sold here as a Chrysler Neon. It's an automatic transmission. Where does the Directed 451M module plug into? What is Type C wiring?

Well, here is the long story.

You have chosen a very sophisticated, high-end R/S Alarm system to install. While your vehicle is considered
fairly easy by seasoned professionals, the actual install won't be a walk in the park. There is a lot to know when
doing a project like this. There is no simple cookbook process. You will have to be proficient in soldering and
able to use a Digital Multi Meter.   A mistake in wiring can cause serious vehicle damage and sloppy work will
result in problems for years to come. To successfully complete this project you must do quite a bit of research
and digging to learn and obtain all the required information. This post will only supply part of the needed info,
you must do the rest. Bottom line, are you up to the challenge?

You have been provided the wire connections from the Viper to the Neon. You have been provided a link to
a decent wire guide source. You have been given a recommended solution for the vehicles door locks. I guess
I could provide actual links to the Viper Install guide and the Directed 451M Door Lock module, too.
However those guides can be easily found in the Downloads section of this site. I would suggest you download
those guides and start the learning process. The 451M Type C wiring is shown in the guide and I have posted the
correct vehicle lock wires. If you are unsure at that point, post the wiring connections you believe are correct
and this forum can review your diagram and make any needed corrections or updates.

For your Auto Trans Neon, the Viper wire at
13 BLACK/WHITE (-) NEUTRAL SAFETY /PARKING BRAKE........Depends on MT or AT
would go to Chassis Ground.

The 451M module has a plug that connects directly to the Vipers 3 Pin Door Lock output connector.

Here is a link to DEI Tech Tip 1041 which has great info about vehicle door lock systems :
     https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/file.asp?ID=708

There will be some Viper programming changes required, so spend some time learning those options.

It is very important to check and verify all vehicle wires with a DMM prior to make the Viper wire connections.
We can explain how to use a DMM to check for (-) type signals if needed but that info can also be found
on this site with the search function.
