I hooked up a viper 5301 system and the remote start doesnt work but everything else does.

I looked at the troubleshooting guide and it says my problem is the neutral safety switch, but the wire for that goes directly to ground and I still get the same thing.

Anyone know whats wrong?

Please give us some more information. For starters, what year, make, model vehicle is it and does it have an automatic or manual transmission? Does it have a regular key or is it push to start?

~wirewise~ Verify all wiring with your meter before making any connections!

Sorry.

I have a 1996 beretta Z26, Auto trans and just a standard key with no security system or any security.

Silly question, did you try flipping the toggle switch?

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Thats all it was. It was off, when I flipped it on the car fired right up. Its always the stupid stuff I miss.
