Viper 4806V2 2Way Alarm Starter
Idatalink ADS-AL CA Module

I have wired my Viper 4806V With a Data to Data with the idatalink ADS-ALCA module programmed for the truck and the D2D
Here is my Wiring all connections are soldered then adhesive lined shrink tubes. A T- Harness was manufactured for the Ignition switch and OBD2 port to ease installation and removal.

Viper Main H1 Harness (6Pin)
H1/1 - [+12VDC Batt] Red to Tacoma White/Blue (+12V Constant)
H1/2 - [Ground] Black to Tacoma Ground
H1/3 - [+Siren] Brown to Tacoma No Connection Or to Siren (not used)
H1/4 - [Park Light Isolation Wire] White/Brown to Tacoma
H1/5 - [Park Light Out] White to Tacoma Tacoma Green Front of Fuse Box (13 Pin connector Pin 10)
H1/6 - [Ground when Armed] Orange to Tacoma No Connection

Viper Door Lock harness (3Pin)
1 - [Unlock] Blue to Tacoma Green/Black Driver Kick Panel (10 Pin Plug Pin 8)
2 - Empty
3 - [Lock] Green to Tacoma Purple Driver Kick Panel (10 Pin Plug Pin 4)

Viper H2 Harness (24 Pin) Only ones Shown were connected the rest were depined from the connector

Now here is the problem I connected everything up after updating the ADS-ALCA and programming it successfully I Learned the Tach as per the instructions, then I went to Menu 3 (remote starter Menu) in the Viper and programmed it to Automatic mode.
Now doors unlock and lock properly.
Remote start does not work, the parking lights flash 9 times indicating Voltage mode (but I can not find anything about it)

Any suggestions please.

First question : When you flashed the ADS AL-CA module did you select the DBI-AL(TB)-TL5 firmware?
Being as you are going D2D with a Viper product, you must use the DBI firmware to get the correct data protocol on the D2D harness connection.
If you use the standard ADS firmware, it won't communicate properly with the Viper R/S unit.

Do you have a BitWriter? I would verify that you are in Tach Mode and that the Tach Learn process was successful.
You could play around and change it to Fixed with a 1 second crank time or go with Virtual Tach to see if the truck will crank / start.
Tach Mode is the best for cold climates.

Looks like you should be OK with the bypass module. You can do a test by unplugging the D2D cable, inserting a working key into the
ignition switch but not turned and try a R/S. If that works, I would do a Factory Reset on the ADS AL-CA, set the Installation Mode
to Data ( one blink ) and lock it in, then do the vehicle programming procedure.

I do not have BitWriter. I am doing everything the old fashioned method.

I did test the bypass module by unplugging the d2d cable with the key in the igntion and attempted a Remote Start. But the same thing occurred 9 flashes.
This leads me to believe that I have done something incorrectly in the wiring... But to the life of me I can not figure it out, after back probing all of the wires and checking their routing It still to me seems as though it is connected properly.

here is what I have:
H1/1 + H3/6 + H3/9 Go to Tacoma White/Blue +12VBatt T-Harness from ignition switch
H2/16 Go to Tacoma Blue brake wire (tested +12V when brake depressed)
H2/23 Go to Tacoma CanBus T-Harness for Tach Signal
H3/1 Go to Tacoma Black/Red [IGN1]
H3/2 Go to Tacoma White/Red [+12VBatt]
H3/3 Go to Tacoma White/Green [ACC1]
H3/4 Go to Tacoma Green/Black T-Harness [Starter 1] (not Cut)
H3/5 Go to Tacoma Green/Black T-Harness [Starter 1] (not Cut)
H3/6 Go to Tacoma White/Blue [+12VBatt]
H3/7 Go to Tacoma Blue/Yellow [IGN2]
H3/9 Go to Tacoma White/Blue [+12Batt]

You’re definitely in voltage sense....go in programming and change it to tach or no tach with 1 second crank time which works go also. Menu 3-2-3 for no tach and change also menu 3-3-3 for 1 second crank time or menu 3-2-4 for tach setting.

Not sure what you mean by "Not cut" on the Starter wire. Is the cut within the T-Harness? If yes, OK. If
not cut then you don't need the Viper Green Starter wire, only the Violet wire.
Being as you have a T-Harness, I would verify those connections via a DMM at the Viper H3 plug. This will
ensure a good connection and to the correct vehicle wire.

One note, I have done lots of Tacoma and the black/white tach wire on the OBDII connector is not always good. Vehicle gives a half a crank most of the time. Setting it to no tach with 1 second crank time is a better option or run tach wire in the engine compartment and connect to an injector. And virtual tach is definitely not an option with this 4x06 module. I found that only Autostart products have a reliable virtual tach.

Thanks everyone for their help!

PROBLEM FIXED;

I was not programming the functions correctly I had the wrong version of the instruction manual for my unit. Long story short in order to program I had to keep holding the button down while I made the menu selections with the remote. I had installed it correctly, and programmed the bypass correctly but did not program the menus correctly.

Thanks for your help, this site is easily one of the best technical sites I have ever used!
