2004 Explorer with keyless
Viper 5706v
Directed DB3 Bypass

All wired up and remote start is working. Alarm works. Door locks work. However there's strange behavior I don't know how to fix.
1) Locking doors from Viper remote turns on some lights for a second and radio turns on and will not turn off unless I open a door. Its almost as if the key is in the accessory ACC position.
2) Unlocking doors turns on dome lights and Viper remote says alarm door open and buzzes

You probably have the unit wired to monitor the dome light instead of the actual state of the door-open switches.
You need to tie all the door switches to the Viper's input using 4 isolation diodes.

Okay so just tap at each door? Got it.
What about the ACC behavior? Did the DB3 get programmed incorrectly?

I am sorry, in my original post I have locking and unlocking reversed.
Unlocking the doors from Viper remote turns on ACC and radio
Locking doors sees domelight and says there's a door open

To unlock and disable the factory alarm, you need to momentarily (500mS) supply power to the IGN1 circuit.
Ford domelight doesn't go off immediately upon closing the doors - so that is why you need to monitor the door switches instead of the domelight.

Thanks for all the information. Here's what I did.
Changed the Viper menu 2>4>Off which is Door Trigger Error Chirp. This bypasses the domelight tripping the alarm as soon as the alarm gets armed. Temporary fix until I rewire each door individually.
Had the DB3 reflashed from the place I bought it from. According to them it was set for a Ford with a factory alarm which my truck doesn't have. Not really sure what actually changed, since this wasn't done by me but I can confirm that after reinstalled it and the doors lock and unlock, the radio doesn't come on and no more retained accessory.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
