Using a 2-Wire PATS Bypass on a 5-Wire Connector?

Hey all, this might be an easy (dumb) question, but I haven’t done a remote start in about 8 years.
I have an old CodeAlarm PC 7300 remote start that I’m thinking about putting in my 2007 Ford Focus. I bought a cheapy PATS bypass off Amazon (BANVIE Universal Immobilizer Transponder Bypass Module), which has an antenna loop for the key cylinder and a Positive/ Negative input. The code alarm has a 5-pin PATS/VATS harness with the following connections:

1. +12v
2. Ground
3. Ignition (+)
4. Starter Motor (+)
5. Active Out (-)

I’m assuming that key reading only takes place during cranking, so do you think Module Ground to Ground and Module Positive to Starter Motor (+) would work? If not, please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Use the Active Out(-) to activate the bypass.
You also need to drive the key-in-sense to +12V so you will need a small relay.

Thanks for the super fast reply! According to multiple wiring charts I’m looking at, the Key Sense is negative (red/black (-) at column harness). Can’t it be directly connected to the active out as is?

Whoops, sorry about the wrong polarity of key sense.
If its negative, then sure, just drive it with active out.
