Thinking about installing a Remote Start in the winter beater (2008 Ford Taurus). Found a new Valet 561R I had laying around so I might give it a go myself. Been a really long time since I installed a remote start. I understand the connections to the Heavy Gauge Relay Harness but not sure about the "4 pin satellite harness". The 4 pin has:Status Output,Accessory Trigger,Starter Trigger and Ignition Trigger. Don't I already make these connections with the Heavy Gauge Harness????

The satellite relay small wires are "200ma (-) triggers". They can be used to trigger additional relays if required for the installation. Like an additional IGNITION or START circuit. Most installs don't use these wires for anything. Tape them off, or leave the connector out.

Been trying to get an old DEI (Valet 561R) working in a 2008 Taurus. So far I've got Constant power, Ignition, Accessory, Starter and ground connected. I want to make sure the starter works before continuing but the unit doesn't seem to be getting power yet. Do any other wires need to be connected before I can make a start test??? The main harness has two heavy gauge power wires so I just used one, is that OK?????

No it’s not ok. Use both power wires to power up the control module and the relays.

One last question/effort before I give up and take it in. The Taurus has a Key Sense wire in the ignition harness, do I need to connect this wire to the remote start harness? Keep in mind I haven't installed the bypass module yet. I'm just sliding a key in the ignition so I can test the unit.

Key Sense needs to see +12V during start - activate it at the same time that the bypass is activated.
