I have a power-folding motor that I want to control from a 2018 Honda. I'm not sure what the amp draw or other characteristics are (it's an OEM part without spec sheet).

On the dashboard is a "blank" where I'm hoping to install the switch. The total size of the piece is 1.25" x 13/16" but it gets narrower in back and thus any switch can only be ~0.75" x 0.75". I was originally planning to use a "(On)-Off-(On)" DPDT toggle with a cross-over pattern to allow reversible control but seems that any switch that fits in this small space likely doesn't have enough DC amp rating for an inductive motor load.

Questions:

1.) How much current would you expect a power-folding mirror to draw?

2.) What type of rating should I be looking for on a switch for an inductive load?

3.) Any suggested circuit design? I want the motor to run either forward or reverse when the toggle switch is either momentarily flipped up or down. I'm thinking I might need to use relays?
