Hi,

I recently had issues with DBALL2 as the my 2006 odyssey failed to start from the remote, but only cranks. Based on the help i received from this forum, I replaced the DBALL2 with a new DBALL3. I got a new DBALL3 from ebay and the seller flashed it for my Van. It was easy to replace as it was a direct replacement for all the connectors(also programmed by setting the Key On). That resolved the start issue and I can start the van using the remote now.

But that's not my issue now, I observed the below changes.

1. The sliding doors used to function before are not functioning now through the remote. I followed the feature options as mentioned in the DBALL3 manual but that did not help.
2. The factory horn used to chirp as a confirmation of all the doors are completely closed. This is not working now. However, the alarms chirps when it is locked and unlocked even when the door is open.
3. All the door locks are working fine. (Although the system arms even when there is a door open)

Could someone help to identify what the issue is? Do I need to do any programming again the viper (5204v LE) as I replaced the DBALL module?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Paul

did you try relearning the Dball2 from the original install? If it lost the transponder, usually a reset / relearn can fix it. there isn't any special programing you need to do to enable aux 1 / aux 2 (for power sliding doors). Just for fun, I would try swapping back in the dball2, relearn it, and see if it will do transponder / door slide.

Other than learning the transponder it should work as before. Unless the DB3 (DBALL3) was configured wrong or flashed with the wrong Honda firmware. As stated from Directechs "The DB3 with 403.HONDA4 v4.18 supports the functions listed for the 2006 Honda Odyssey. This functionality can be configured for each unique installation during the module flash workflow."

Thanks you both @silvercivicsir and @lurch228 for your valuble inputs.

Before I install the db3 i had tried relearning the dball2 few times. Dball2 worked fine except for the remote start as it couldn't bypass immobilizer.

Now withdraw db3, the remote starter and door locks works fine. But it is not functioning with factory alarm.
It is unable to arm and disarm the factory alarm. It only triggers the viper alarm.

@lurch228,

I contacted the vendor who flashed for me. He confirmed that he flashed with 403.HONDA4 v4.18 version and have agreed to reflash it again if required.

To me it looks like, dball3 fails to arm and disarm the factory alarm. Ideally it should have.

As per Dball3 manual, the default feature options enables thenaux1 and aux2 for sliding door function. I again programmed those options, but did not see any change.

I conncted by dball2 back and it works well with the factory alarm and doors are working fine.

I even made an attempt to contact Directed tech support. As I am not a dealer, did not get much help from them. However the mentioned that the version 4.22 beta is the one to be used as it has some sliding door fix.

But it appears my issue is related with not synchiroized with the factory alarm. May not be specific to the sliding door.

Once if I am able to alarm and disarm the factory security system, the sliding door issue may also go off.

Sounds like a firmware data issue that DEI is working on to fix for the DB3. As for the DBALL2 having it re-flashed might fix it, if its firmware got partially corrupted. Otherwise it has a hardware switching issue That is not turning on the bypass portion of the module. If DEI hadn't locked us DIYers out you could fix it yourself with the xkloader2.

Hi All,

An update on this. I got the DBALL3 flashed with the firmware version v2.22 Beta which has the sliding door fix. Now sliding doors started working. Big relief.

So now my only issue is that it does not arm and disarm the factory alarm. The Viper's security can be armed and disarmed, but ideally the factory security should be armed and disarmed as well.

Experts, please let me know if anyone has any clue.

When you got it reflashed, you should have also asked them to turn on " safe lock",

That's a valuable input. Thanks! Never knew that I would need to set something specific like that.
As per the DBALL manual i see it can still be programmed for few options. I see it as a Feature number 6 options 2. I am hoping that I still can set that option using the program button.

I will definitely try that and post the result here.

Sorry for getting back late on this status. Instead of getting it re-flashed, Yesterday I tried to set the option of SafeLock ( by DBALL programming feature options : Feature 6 option 2 - Enabled DBALL3 in programming mode and press programming button six times to select the feature and then used the viper remote to set the desired 'safelock' option.), but it did not help either. So at this point, I have no solution for this problem.
Not sure if i need to hard-wire from door panel to enable the OEM alarm.

Would appreciate if anyone as anymore insights on this.
