You need a RF kit which includes an antenna and the remotes. You will need to program the DB3 to work with the XL202 and program the XL202 to work with the specific remotes. There are various RF kits available.

The XL202 is only the receiver of the antenna signals and converts it to data to command the bypass module (DB3). The type of remote/antenna (RF kit) that plugs into the XL202 determines the range. If the RF kit is a 2 way unit, then they have more range than a 1 way system. Typical range for a 1 way is 500 - 1200 feet. A 2 way may give up to 2000 feet. Range will vary on a variety of factors. Battery strength, local interference or obstructions, window tint, etc.
