Hey,

I am trying to install a viper 4706v with Idatalink ads-al ca Data Bypass on a Honda Civic 2013. This is a 4-door, automatic car. Can you provide a wiring schematic and installation instructions, please? If it helps, I have the data mode cable for both units. Thanks in advance guys.

So i have almost everything labeled and ready to install but i have a couple questions.
1) The idatalink has CANH and CANL, does that get connected to CAN HIGH/LOW or CAN HIGH2/LOW2? I think its high2/low2 but not sure
2)is key data in idatalink the IMMO data?
3)for the Viper 4706v im using if im doing d2d, for the trunk release button do i have to connect the (-)200mA TRUNK RELEASE OUTPUT to Trunk Release Motor green 5 wire     dash fuse box, green 44 pin plug (B), pin 9
4) since im using d2d do i need to connect the door lock connector from the viper to the car

As i stated i have an automatic 2013 honda civic sedan with a viper 4806v and idatalink alca. I finished wiring everything up today after using the wiring diragrams on the site here, and ended up having to program it out of manual mode and add a ground (parking lights flashed 7 times and then 8 times). once i finished that the remote start button would work and the engine would crank but wont turn over. when i press the lock and unlock buttons, the horn beeps once and twice accordingly and shows the correct symbol on the remote but doesn't lock or unlock. the same thing goes for the trunk release, the symbol changes and says the trunk is open but the trunk still stays locked.

did you follow the diagram for the ALCA ? get the can h/l / immo / ign cut, at the transponder plug? This is a simple car, and the bypass will do all functions. Tach / locks / trunk.

As for the viper, did you ground the blk/white? and learn Tach?

Yeah i followed the bypass diagram.
Can H brown /red to pink
Can L brown/yellow to blue
Key data orange/black to light green
Ignition white/black to yellow connector side
Ignition white/red to yellow vehicle side
Pink ignition input spliced to ignition white/red vehicle side.
All these connection are on the same plug
I also only hooked up the solid black lines, and i did not hook up the red solid or black dashed lines.

did the module program correctly? (ie the green light came on) when you turned the key to program it? [did the diagram pin#'s match the wire colors]?

just for fun, put the key in the ignition, and try remote starting it.

Yes the green light was on during programming, and yes the pin matched the wire colors, but the connector was gray not white.

So i put the key in the ignition and turned it on with the remote start and it worked. The lock, unlock, and trunk release still doesnt work though.

So the module programmed correctly.. ( Green light when you turned it on) and the remote start wiring is correct (starts the car with the key).

When you initially programmed the bypass for the honda civic, you selected "DBI" mode? When you try and remote start the car, does the bypass turn on? if it doesn't it could either be the wrong data mode was selected, or you might have a bad DBI port on the viper brain. You plugged the red dbi cable into the viper? You could also try hard wiring the bypass.

Yeah i selected dbi mode when i programmed it. The green light on the bypass just keeps blinking all the time. Yep the red side of the cable is in the viper

I started it with the remote with the key in the ignition and it was slowly blinking green. It slowly blinks no matter whati do

you need to program the bypass for the car, press and hold the button on the bypass. the green led will go solid and then go out.. insert key into car, and turn on (don't start it). once the bypass learns, the green led will come on.

How long does it usually take for the bypass to learn and the light to come back on? I was waiting 5 mins and nothing happened

seconds.. it doesn't take long.. try resetting the bypass.. undo the data connector, press down on the button and insert the data connector. The led will go red, release button, and it will slowly flash green, press and hold, and when the led goes out, insert key, and turn car on. When it programs the led will turn green.

If that doesn't work, double check to make sure you have the white/red & pink on the car side, not the connector side.

Hmmm. So i reset the bypass just as you said, and programmed the bypass and turned on the key and the led turned green for a couple of seconds then went out. Still doesnt remote start. So as far as i can tell the programming is good i think.

Also, red white and pink wires are not on the connector side

Hey sorry for the late reply its been a busy week. So i reprogrammed the unit twice, the led turned green and i pressed unlock and still nothing. I also double checked all the wiring and connections and they are all good. I ordered a new viper unit today so itll be here in a couple days and ill see if replacing the unit its self will work.

Just got the new unit today, and it still only remote starts with the key in the ignition. Im just gonna take it somewhere, not sure where else to look

you sure it's flashed to DBI mode? Try hard wiring it.(you have to switch it to hardwire mode, hard reset, and press the one button once, and the led will slowly blink twice.

when you attempt to remote start it, the Bypass led should come on, does it?

So i took it to a shop to have them look at it, and they said it needed a different bypass module, so he gave me a db3 and i cant find installation instructions anywhere

Hopefully he flashed the DB3 with the correct firmware prior to handing it over.
