Aftermarket Alarm, 2011 Ford Ranger Door Locks

Hey all, I've got a 2011 Ford Ranger that I've just installed an alarm in. The truck's got OEM power locks, and I'd like to wire it up with the alarm's lock/unlock feature, but I'm a little unsure of the wiring. The alarm has a 3-wire harness, one for lock, one for unlock, and one labelled 12v. Does the 12v wire need hooked to a power source, or is a line out of the alarm? For the lock and unlock wires do I tap into the factory trigger wires? I've done some reading, and have seen mentioned that my truck may have negative triggers. Is that true?

First you want to verify the type of output your aftermarket alarm system provides for the Lock and Unlock
signals. Usually it's a (-) signal. If it is a (-) signal, the connections are very easy. Below are the Rangers
Lock and Unlock wires :

POWER LOCK    GRAY/YELLOW (TYPE B)    IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL or SJB, BLACK 32-PIN PLUG(C)

POWER UNLOCK    PURPLE/GRAY (TYPE B)    IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL or SJB, BLACK 32-PIN PLUG(C)

Please note that Door Trigger ( aka Door Pin ) wires are not the same as the Lock and Unlock wires. They do
different functions. A door Trigger wires just provides a signal that is the current status of the door, either
open or closed. The lock wires are used to actually operate the door lock solenoids.

I'm pretty sure that the +12V wire on the aftermarket alarm system is an output and will be
unused for your application.
