I am having a problem with my wiring on my 1996 Crown Victoria. I am installing a Viper 5305V remote start, keyless entry & alarm. I have the keyless entry and alarm working just fine. It is the remote start that is giving me trouble. When I press the remote start on the 2 way LCD remote the brain box for the system just makes some clicking noises and then doesn't even try to start after that. I have all the wires connected and I have started my car with the key and let the system learn the tach signal. My Crown Victoria has 2 coil packs and I am getting my tach signal from the one on the driver's side. Is that correct or should I get it from the other one on the passenger side near the battery. I have programmed the 2 way LCD remote and the 1 way remote. I went through and set up all three menus. I get 5 flashes on the control LED which says there is an issue concerning the pink/white wire for the starter. I have checked and rechecked my wiring to insure the connections are correct and have a solid connection. I am stumped and could really use some help at this point. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated at this time!!!!!
Thanks,
Jimmy Gregory

Did you wire up a hood pin? If not then the hood pin wire needs to be grounded in order to remote start.

As Steve mentioned, 5 flashes is the hood input.

If this wire is grounded it will not start. Temporarily disconnect this wire and try again.
