Hi -
I have a 1996 Ford Bronco 5-speed. I was always under the impression that you could not install a remote start in a manual transmission vehicle (because of the clutch). But, someone recently told me it was possible.
Is this true? Do I need a specific type of remote start?

yes it can be done. Viper/compustar remote starts have safe guards to doing this, as long as you follow them. Viper will have a manual transmission mode and need the e brake and door trigger wires hooked up and a sequence that need to be done when you shut the car off. Compustar you can use the ft-das and it detects a lurch forward if left in gear and will then kill the RS. Both you have to hook up a relay to do the clutch bypass during RS, usually its the 2nd starter wire. These are safe guards and designed so you don't put a car through a wall or worse kill some one and should be followed to a t.

no should not need a bypass module
