I need to find a tach wire for a 88 Olds Delta 88. It says look for white wire on ignition module. But, there are two white wires. So how do I tell which one to use?

use a multimeter set it to AC black probe to ground and start the car probe the white wire the correct wire will show between 1V to 6V     AC

Will that show negative? The wire is suppose to be a negative wire.

ok do the test above and the wire that shows the proper voltage should be connected to the BLK/WHT wire on the 16 pin harness...
