Polar Start Unresponsive After Dead Battery

Hi Folks, I have a polar start PS-4461 TWE FM installed in my 2009 Ford Explorer. Its worked fine for the last 8 years since it was installed at the dealership where we bought the vehicle, but since my battery went dead on the vehicle last week it no longer works at all. The park lights don't flash, it doesn't try to remote start and the door locks don't work. I can't even enter programming mode with the hood switch or the PAB on the module. The led on the antenna is a solid blue and the module does make 4 clicking sounds when I disconnect and reconnect the large white plug on the back of the module, other than that it is totally unresponsive to the remotes, hood switch or PAB. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

sounds like it's in Valet mode. turn the ignition on/off 5 times ending with off. The park lights should flash and the led will go out.. You also might have to relearn your remote /tach.

Ya I’ve done the ignition on/off a few times to go out/ into valet, all I get is two clicks from the module, no park lights come on and the led will change to rapid flashing. I’ve also tried to learn a transmitter, but as before the park lights do not flash, so I can not get into programming mode. I think that since the park lights will not flash when I flash the hood pin or the PAB on the module, that the module is most likely toast.

do you have a test light? if you do, try grounding out the grey hood pin wire from the module, and then trying to use the PAB button. Your hood pin could be rusty and not making good contact.

I just wanted to post that I did finally got into programming mode on the module, silvercivicsir you are pretty close to what I did. I first want to send a shoutout to Lock down Security, whose youtube video (How To Program an Autostart Remote Control Without a Hoodpin) inspired me, so hopefully this will help anyone who gets an unresponsive module, were the park lights won't flash no matter what you do and you lose your remote programming from a dead car battery.
    First I unhooked the hood pin switch and ran a piece of spare wire from the hood pin wire directly to where I could momentarily contact the negative terminal of the battery as needed to simulate ground. After three tries of the procedure to get into programming mode (see your manual) and only getting the park lights to stay on for a few seconds at a time, I finally got to the ignition in time and did an on/off and hit lock on the remote and viola everything worked as it did before. I reconnected the hoodpin and it works and operates normally. So not sure why a direct connection to the negative terminal of the battery worked but it did. The car battery was only dead for a few days so also not sure why the module acted this way but I was sure glad to "wake it up". Thanks for your help.
