Hello,

I am installing a remote start in 2000 Toyota Celica Manual Transmission. I have completed the install but i am unsure of clutch wire to bypass with remote start. Any idea what wire i should connect on the vehicle and if it is positive or negative?

I have used CompuStar FT7200 module, no bypass since vehicle doesn't have mobilizer.

Please advise.

Thank You in advance.

Find the switch at the top of the clutch pedal and splice in each wire from the switch to pins 87 and 30 of a relay. Connect 86 to negative and 85 to your remote start's starter wire.

Better would be 85 to positive and 86 to a negative signal starter wire from your R/S that's enabled when starting.

So you mean attached pin 30 & 87 to the each clutch wire? According to what i remember, there is black/orange wire and then there is black yellow wire at the clutch switch. I thought i would give it negative or positive pulse from remote for it to start. Also wondering if i connected the wires together at the clutch switch, it should start the vehicle right, which is basically what we are doing with the relay and i did do that test and it did not start the vehicle.

Just a test that i've done, when i test the wires at the clutch switch, they both measure positive and when i press the clutch, it measures negative on one of the wires.

if i remember correctly.. thin blk off the 7200 for "negative start" to the blk yellow at the clutch.

Seems like black yellow is for cruise control. I found black/white & white/black which seems like it's for clutch. When I manually join the 2 wires together it starts without pressing the clutch so I wired in relay to basically join them together and still doesn't start. Not sure what else to do with this thing anymore.

How is your relay wired?

So i figured it out, apparently just a regular negative start or GWA from remote start is not enough so i had to change the polarity using relay and trigger it with positive start wire from remote start and BOOM! it works! It was actually Black/White wire at the clutch.

Thank You for all the help!
