I just had a Silencer alarm system installed on my truck. Does anyone know how to set the Chirp Delete so that there will be no arm/disarm status chirps. Thanks for your help. I see many systems have the ability to use the remote to modify this. Rmoynahan@yahoo.com ------------- RickM

While I am not familiar with that make/model of alarm in detail, if your manual doesn't mention a way to do this, and your installer/shop can't tell you how to disable chirp status, I know on Alpines (older ones) it's done via a jumper or DIP-switch inside of the BCM. The other option is to replace the siren itself with one that either mutes the initial several seconds to "bypass" status chirps, or some companies (again, I know Alpine offered this in a 126dB siren model in the early 90's) offer a siren that "mutes" the first couple of chirps to a quiet, muted volume for arm/disarm, then after that initial few seconds, it reverts to full volume.
Just some ideas.

It looks like Magnadyne Corp who makes Silencer and Marksman alarms sell them direct to dealerships and they don't have much information out on the web. The model 6909p says it can be programmed "by the dealer" so there will be no arm/disarm status chirps. But fails to mention how this is accomplished. I would guess it is via dip switch or remotely by using combination of lock/unlock on the remote. Rick ------------- RickM

yup. one of those two. DIPs or remote sequence. I have the same issues with my Ungo, but tahnkfully I think I found a shop or two willing to give me the data I need.
Just gotta be niec and polite and they will usually help :)
